Winter Activities!

The snow has arrived, along with information about upcoming winter activities at HPS! The dates for winter activities for both Grades 5 and 6 are Thursday, January 26 and Thursday, February 2, with an alternate day of Thursday, February 9.
The Grade 5's will be heading to Arrowhead Provincial Park, where they will snowshoe and then skate on the beautiful skating trail in the afternoon on January 26th.  Please send your child with both skates and a helmet on January 26th.  Skates are available to rent for an extra $4 from Arrowhead. Please indicate if you will need to rent skates for your child and their size on the form sent home.  We will look after bringing snowshoes from the HPS end.
On February 2nd, our Grade 5's will be cross country skiing for the day at Arrowhead.  If rentals are necessary, please indicate so on the form.  The price with ski rentals is $35 for both days and $25 if no ski rentals are necessary.  Note that it is possible to rent either classic or skate skis.
The Grade 6's will be heading to Hidden Valley on both days for either skiing or snowboarding.  Prices vary, depending on whether or not you are a member at Hidden Valley and if rentals are needed.  Please complete the rental agreement if your child is renting equipment and please complete the information about your child's level of skiing or snowboarding for instruction.
All forms and money are due to the school by Friday, December 9.  Please note that post-dated cheques (dated no later than January 13, 2017) are accepted.  If you require a different payment plan or if financial assistance is needed, please email our Vice Principal, Trudi MacKinnon, at trudi.mackinnon@tldsb.on.ca or call her at the school at 705 789-2318 ext. 203.
Volunteers are welcome and very appreciated for all of these activities.  Please consider joining us at either Arrowhead or Hidden Valley on January 26 and/or February 2.  If you are available, please indicate so on your child's form and we'll be in touch!
