Multiplication tables, spaghetti and thank you!

  First of all, I'd like to thank you for engaging in some great learning with your kids during the recent flight and structures projects.  I have been enjoying seeing the end results of all of your hard work and it has led to some great questions and discussion (and probably some quizzical looks from the custodian as I throw paper airplanes in our classroom in the evenings!).

  A "heads up" that we are having regular quizzes to ensure that all students are efficient with their multiplication facts to 9 x 9.  This is a Grade 4 math expectation but important to master if students are going to be able to multiply efficiently.  This upcoming Monday there will be a test of the 6 and 7 times tables, followed by the 8 and 9 x tables on Tuesday.

  Also, our classroom has been asked to create a basket to be raffled at the upcoming Spaghetti Dinner at HPS on February 15, 2017.  The Spaghetti Dinner is a major fundraiser for Parent Council and supports many activities and equipment at our school, so please consider attending.  The students in our class have decided that hockey will be the theme of our basket.  Please consider donating any hockey-related items to our basket.
