Hello! To make things clearer, I have posted the Structures project and the Flight project separately. I have also written the expectations of the Structures project in English, for parent reference. The due date for projects is this upcoming Monday, January 30th. Let me know if you have any questions and happy building! Mme Lindsay
Gr. 5 (and Gr. 6 students I taught last year) structures project
Faites à résister un tremblement de terre!
Note to Parents/Guardians: I would recommend that your child build his/her structure before completing the written part, as the choice of materials and the structure itself may change during the process. Below is a brief translation of what I have asked the students to write (in French):
1. a) Make a list of the materials you used to create your structure.
b) Explain why or why not these materials were a good choice.
2. Show (via a diagram and/or writing) three different ways that you tried to create a strong, stable structure.
3. Make a diagram of your structure, showing how the forces of tension and compression act on it.
4. Explain what improvements you would make to your final structure.
Nom: _______________________________
Date: _______________________________
