Last month, our class went on a trip to Yearley.Yearley is an overnight outdoor education center. We played a lot of games and learned a lot about the past. One of the games is the ''Fur Trade'' game. We had to go around the property and find encampments and trade with First Nations people{adults}. Another game we played was the ''Ecology'' game. There were wolves, foxes, raccoons, deer, rabbits and mice that had to eat each other {tag each other} There was also a disease and an ecologist{the person who gave you lives if you ran out} and a truck driver/hunter/zombie. We had great meals! Tacos Tuesday Night [TACO TUESDAY,] pancakes on Wednesday morning and pizza for lunch! We slept in heated portables on bunk beds. There was a boys' portable and a girls' portable. We went on a night walk and had a bonfire and guess what! we ate moon ro- I mean LOTS of smores. We definitely did NOT eat moon rocks. That would be dangerous. We went canoeing on the three ponds and went in a swamp with hip waders to find insects like dragonfly nymphs. We played man hunt and built MASSIVE forts at free time.
